Q. Can XErase change the block size of a drive from 512 to 520 or vice versa?

A. Yes, you can specify block size changes on SCSI (SAS, FC, SCSI) drives from 512 to 520, 528 or whatever the drive will support and of course the reverse is true, you can take enterprise drives at 520 and bring them down to 512. To to this navigate to Customize->Interface->Erasure Settings and select Reformat SCSI Block Size and select the desired option: Reformat on Writes or Reformat Always then hit update. Next select Reformatted Block Size and type in the size you would like: 512, 520, 528 etc. and hit update. Now when you run an erasure ALL SCSI drives will be reformatted to your desired size.
